Taz Harrison
Vice-Emperor of Live Music & Ruckus at The Sugarmill
Taz Harrison is the Vice-Emperor of Live Music and Ruckus at The Sugarmill. A lifelong
songwriter and performer, Taz began singing professionally in childhood. Including
appearances in legendary local venues like the New Vic Theatre, Victoria Hall, and the now-
fallen-to-myth Theatre Royal.
With over two decades in the grassroots live-music trenches - working every role from Door
Dolly to Welfare Officer and beyond - Taz brings a deep, lived understanding of what it takes
to build a strong independent music scene together. Alongside curating The Sugarmill, she
has also birthed four human children, three albums, and a riotous gallery of EPs with bands
such as Ylang Dog Riot, Dirty Money No.5, Mr Mary, and Dandelion Pussy.
Taz’s work is defined by a radical authenticity, unapologetic creative force, and a
commitment to building spaces where art, community, and feral self-expression can thrive.
