Steve Hammersley is currently in-house live events coordinator for The Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek. 

In 2011 he co-founded The Situation (live events) and began putting gigs on promoting unsigned local bands. 

The Situation have staged hundreds of shows in Leek and also Stoke, Liverpool, Manchester, Leicester and Bristol. 

Steve now spends more time booking touring bands for The Foxlowe and has provided support slots for local bands such as Koala, Poppy Blond, Sam Poole, Large Father, The Crystal Teardrop, ZipStyle, Johntay and others. 

He also hosts an annual fundraiser for local radio station Ay Up Duck Radio. 

Since 2024 Steve has been a trustee for Leek Arts Festival and manages bookings, marketing and publicity for the multi-event festival which takes place every year in May
