Martin Hayward
Programmer of concerts and one-night events at the New Vic Theatre
Programmer of concerts and one-night events at the New Vic theatre, Martin programmes a varied
mix of performers at the venue, from local Northern Soul band – Soul Brother’s Syndicate,
stars of stage and TV – such as Brian Blessed and Lucy Worsley, poet John Cooper
Clarke, comedian Russell Howard, and music legends Rick Wakeman, Geno Washington
and Blur’s Graham Coxon amongst many others. Prior to this role, Martin ran official fan
services for Blur, and has provided consultancy services for the band, their management
and label on back catalogue campaigns. Music has been a passion all his life, and he
proudly boasts K-Tel Records “The Best of Bowie” as one of his first album purchases aged
9. He did also have “The Best of the Wombles” though. Martin has broad tastes.
